Brazilian ornamental stone export data: volumes and markets

Brazil's natural stone sector had a record 2025. Two figures exist for that year on different code scopes, ComexStat's own pull for the granite and quartzite codes this site tracks, and Centrorochas's sector-wide figure covering the whole natural-stone trade. Both are shown, with the coverage difference stated rather than blended into one number.

We work in Brazil and we do not sell stone. Where two sourced figures for the same year disagree, both are shown rather than picked between or averaged.

The short answer

Brazil's natural stone exports grew strongly in 2025 on both figures available. ComexStat, pulled directly on the granite and quartzite codes this site tracks, shows US$1,296.2 million, up 19.9% from 2024. Centrorochas, the sector association, separately reported US$1.48 billion for the whole natural-stone sector, up 17.5%, calling it a record year. The United States was the leading destination on both measures.

ComexStat, by NCM code

Year Volume Value (FOB)
2024 1.55 Mt US$1,081.4 M
2025 1.79 Mt US$1,296.2 M

Source: ComexStat API, export flow, NCM 2516.11.00 and 2516.12.00 (granite, crude and block forms), 2506.20.00 (quartzite, crude and block forms), 6802.23.00 (granite, simply cut, flat surface), 6802.93.90 (granite worked in other ways, the main code for polished slabs) and 6802.99.90 (other worked stone, which ABIROCHAS notes covers solid quartzite slabs). Pulled directly 24 September 2026. This is a primary figure on the specific codes named here, not the whole natural-stone sector.

Centrorochas's sector-wide figure

Centrorochas reported, for 2025: US$1.48 billion in exports (up 17.5%), 2.11 million tonnes (up 2.9%), both described as records; average price up 14.2%; Espírito Santo accounting for 78.5% of the total. This was reported by Folha Vitória on 13 January 2026, citing Centrorochas; the Centrorochas original could not be opened directly while preparing this page. It is a secondary citation of a primary industry source.

The gap between US$1,296.2 million (ComexStat, granite and quartzite codes only) and US$1.48 billion (Centrorochas, whole sector) is most likely explained by scope: Centrorochas's sector figure covers Brazilian natural stone broadly, which includes marble and other stone types outside the granite and quartzite codes tracked on this page, and may use a different worked-stone code grouping. The two are not directly comparable line for line, and this page does not attempt to reconcile them into a single number.

Top destinations, 2025

Destination ComexStat 2025 value (FOB), granite and quartzite codes
United States US$0.74 bn
China US$0.21 bn
Italy US$0.11 bn
Mexico US$0.05 bn
Spain US$0.02 bn

Source: ComexStat API, same codes as above, country-level detail, pulled 24 September 2026. Centrorochas's own sector-wide figures for 2025 put the United States at 53.6% of exports (US$795 million), China at 17.5% (US$260.1 million) and Italy at 8.0% (US$117.7 million), the same rank order as ComexStat's narrower figure, which is a useful cross-check even though the absolute values differ by scope. Centrorochas also reported that granite and marble export volumes fell in 2025 (down 8.7% and 7.5% respectively) while quartzite volume grew, a shift the source ties to US tariff conditions during the year.

US tariff status: not covered here

The US tariff regime applied to Brazilian stone changed more than once during 2025 and 2026. This page does not state a specific rate, because a rate quoted here would be out of date by the time it is read. Check the current status directly against the US Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) or with a US customs broker before pricing a shipment.

Where this fits

The company, quarry and material-identification checks are on how to verify a Brazilian ornamental stone exporter and ornamental stone grades and standards. Delivery basis and port choice are on Incoterms and Brazilian ports.

How we can help

Frequently asked questions

How much granite and quartzite did Brazil export in 2025?

By ComexStat, on the specific granite and quartzite NCM codes this site tracks (2516.11, 2516.12, 2506.20 crude and block forms, plus 6802.23, 6802.93.90 and 6802.99.90 worked forms), US$1,296.2 million, up 19.9% from 2024's US$1,081.4 million, pulled directly 24 September 2026.

Why does Centrorochas report a different total?

Centrorochas, the Brazilian Natural Stone Association, reported the whole sector's 2025 exports (which includes marble and other stone types beyond granite and quartzite, and may use a broader worked-stone code set) at US$1.48 billion, up 17.5%, a record. The two figures are not measuring the identical set of codes, so they are shown separately here rather than reconciled into one number.

Who are the biggest buyers of Brazilian stone?

By ComexStat's own 2025 country breakdown on the granite and quartzite codes tracked here, the United States led by a wide margin, followed by China and Italy. Centrorochas's sector-wide figures put the same three countries in the same order: US 53.6%, China 17.5%, Italy 8.0%.
