Brazilian pork export data: volumes, value and markets

Brazilian pork exports grew strongly in 2025. Two figures exist for the same year, one from ComexStat pulled directly for this page and one reported by the industry association ABPA, and they do not match exactly because they cover different codes. Both are shown here, with the reason for the gap stated rather than papered over.

We work in Brazil and we do not sell pork. No figure below is rounded to make the trade look better than it is, and where two sourced figures disagree, both are shown.

The short answer

Brazil's pork exports grew by close to a fifth in 2025. ComexStat, pulled directly for this page, puts the value at US$3.53 billion on the specific fresh, chilled, frozen and offal codes listed below, up 19.2% from 2024. ABPA, the sector association, separately reported US$3.619 billion, up 19.3%, most likely on a broader set of codes. Both are real, sourced figures for the same year; they are not the same measurement.

ComexStat, by NCM code, 2025 vs 2024

Year Volume (fresh/chilled/frozen pork + offal) Value (FOB)
2024 1.24 Mt US$2.96 bn
2025 1.45 Mt US$3.53 bn

Source: ComexStat API, export flow, NCM 0203.11.00 through 0203.29.00 (fresh, chilled and frozen pork cuts and carcasses) and 0206.30.00, 0206.41.00, 0206.49.00 (edible pork offal), pulled 24 September 2026. This is a primary figure, read directly from the government trade database, using the specific codes named here.

ABPA's own figure, for comparison

ABPA (the Brazilian Animal Protein Association) reported 2025 pork exports of 1.510 million tonnes, up 11.6% on 2024's 1.352 million tonnes, for US$3.619 billion, up 19.3% on 2024's US$3.033 billion. This figure was reported through IstoÉ Dinheiro on 8 January 2026, citing ABPA; the ABPA release itself could not be opened directly while preparing this page. It is a secondary citation of a primary industry source, not independently re-derived here.

The ComexStat total above and the ABPA figure both describe 2025 pork exports and both show similar year-on-year growth, but they do not match to the dollar, and the tonnage figures differ more than the value figures do (1.45 Mt here against 1.510 Mt from ABPA). The most likely explanation is that ABPA's own reporting covers a wider set of pork product codes than the ones pulled for this page. This gap was not resolved; a buyer who needs the precise code-by-code split should query ComexStat directly against the full list of codes ABPA uses in its own reporting.

Top destinations, 2025

Destination ComexStat 2025 value (FOB)
Philippines US$0.88 bn
Japan US$0.39 bn
China US$0.36 bn
Chile US$0.29 bn
Hong Kong US$0.25 bn

Source: ComexStat API, same codes as above, country-level detail, pulled 24 September 2026. ABPA's own reporting, in tonnage, names the Philippines as the largest 2025 destination as well, with the Philippines, China, Chile, Japan and Hong Kong as its top five by volume, up 54.5% for the Philippines specifically year on year. The rank order is broadly consistent between the two sources even though one measures value and the other volume.

How we can help

Frequently asked questions

How much pork did Brazil export in 2025?

By ComexStat (NCM 0203 fresh, chilled and frozen pork, plus 0206 edible offal, pulled 24 September 2026), US$3.53 billion, up 19.2% from 2024's US$2.96 billion on the same codes. ABPA, the industry association, separately reported US$3.619 billion for 2025, up 19.3%. The two figures are close but not identical, most likely because ABPA's own code coverage is broader than the codes pulled for this page; they are shown separately rather than averaged.

Who are the top buyers of Brazilian pork?

By 2025 ComexStat export value, the Philippines led at US$0.88 billion, followed by Japan, China, Chile and Hong Kong. ABPA's own reporting, in tonnage rather than value, names the same five markets in a similar order for 2025.

Why does this page show two different total figures instead of one?

Because they measure different things and we could not reconcile them to the exact NCM code. ComexStat's total here uses only the specific codes listed in the FAQ above, pulled directly from the trade database. ABPA's figure, reported through the press, likely includes additional pork-related codes not pulled here, such as processed pork. Rather than pick one, round the other to match, or average them, both are stated with their source and code scope.
